Pre-gamescom Series | Episode 3: When One Trailer Becomes Six Formats

The Invisible Work Behind Every Gamescom Trailer is our four-part series exploring everything that happens after a trailer is approved and before it reaches players around the world. Each episode focuses on one often overlooked part of multimedia localization that can make or break a global launch.

A trailer created for a gamescom reveal is rarely the only version a marketing team needs. The same campaign may also require vertical videos for TikTok and YouTube Shorts, social media edits, booth screens, paid media assets and localized versions for multiple markets.

In Episode 3 of our Pre-gamescom Series, Lara explores why adapting multimedia content is much more than resizing a video or replacing the text. Every platform has its own technical specifications, layouts and viewing experience, which means each version needs to be carefully adapted to preserve the impact of the original.

A change in format can affect everything from composition and subtitles to logo placement and text length. Add multiple languages into the mix, and what started as a single trailer quickly becomes dozens of deliverables.

At Loc & Capture, we help game studios and publishers adapt multimedia campaigns across formats, platforms and languages, making sure every version feels intentional wherever players see it.
